Uiterlijk van de plant: De Calathea Orbifolia is een opvallende kamerplant met grote, ronde bladeren die een zilvergroene kleur hebben met opvallende lichte strepen. De bladeren kunnen tot wel 30 cm groot worden en hebben een fluweelachtige textuur. Deze plant is 45 cm hoog en de pot heeft een diameter van 17 cm. De Calathea Orbifolia produceert geen bloemen binnenshuis, maar wordt gewaardeerd om haar decoratieve bladeren.

Standplaats: Deze plant gedijt het beste op een plek met indirect zonlicht of halfschaduw. Vermijd direct zonlicht, omdat dit de bladeren kan verbranden. Ideaal voor binnenshuis, bij een constante temperatuur tussen de 18-24°C.

Waterbehoefte: De Calathea Orbifolia houdt van vochtige grond, maar kan niet tegen stilstaand water. Geef de plant regelmatig water, zodat de grond licht vochtig blijft. In de winter heeft de plant minder water nodig, maar zorg ervoor dat de grond nooit helemaal uitdroogt.
